Toxic and Hazardous gas control

Toxic and hazardous gases

A catastrophic release of a toxic gas like chlorine from a 1-ton cylinder can wreak havoc on the lives of human beings and animals within a 5-mile radius. The non-odorous chlorine gas causes eye irritation, nose irritation, breathing difficulties, and even death when exposed to lethal concentrations.

Storage of such chlorine cylinders in water treatment plants and industries poses a huge risk of accidental release. Other gases such as Ammonia, H2S, and SO2 share an equal threat to humans and the environment when released in large quantities in the atmosphere.

With this perspective, a fool-proof measure has to be in place to mitigate such disasters

The fool-proof measure

THE PURAFIL EMERGENCY GAS SCRUBBER (EGS) is designed to protect staff and the local community in the event of a catastrophic toxic gas release. Purafil has standard options to mitigate large- and small-scale leaks of chlorine, ammonia, or sulfur dioxide, by providing immediate protection against leaking gas.

As soon as the chlorine is released inside the room, the sensors activate the EGS blower which will begin suction.

Inside the scrubber, Purafil Chlorosorb Ultra neutralizes the chlorine into harmless solids by a process of chemisorption protecting people from damage..
